What Businesses Use Merchant Warehouse?

Merchant Warehouse offers credit card processing services to many types of businesses. The company accepts merchant accounts from traditional physical stores, online businesses, pay-by-phone sales services such as mail order companies, and businesses conducted at trade shows or any other mobile locations. Merchant Warehouse provides wireless credit card terminals and contactless payment readers, allowing merchant mobility and payment convenience for customers. Whether its customers physically swipe credit cards or manually enter credit card numbers, merchant Warehouse’s credit card processing service covers it all.

Customer Service

Providing great customer service is part of the principle on which Merchant Warehouse was founded. Customer service at Merchant Warehouse reflects both professionalism and competency. The company employs a large in-house sales and customer support staff. Representatives must undergo intensive training to ensure the best service in the business. By providing honest and clear-cut answers to customer questions, Merchant Warehouse does not make false promises and hide costs and fees.

Price/Fee Structure

Merchant Warehouse is willing to match any lower price on an equipment or software from its competitors, plus an additional 10 percent off. The company’s price structure on merchant account services focuses on delivering the lowest overall processing costs rather than attractive percentage discount rates on transaction volumes. By eliminating some of the additional account fees, Merchant Warehouse guarantees the lowest overall processing costs. Price structure may also depends on how a company accepts credit cards and its business nature. Prospective customers are welcome to request a custom rate quote, and a representative will try to find the lowest cost option for the account.

Unique Features of Merchant Warehouse

A leader and innovator in the credit card processing industry, Merchant Warehouse is experienced to handle a wide range of merchant accounts with different business and credit conditions. As a result, the company has one of the highest account approval rates in the industry. 1. On behalf of Merchant Warehouse I am please to say that I was able to work directly with Steve and reimburse him for his PCI compliance fee as well as the bank overdraft charges. We sincerely apologize for the less than stellar experience in which this merchant encountered and made every attempt to correct it. Steve was very pleased with the positive resolution.

  2. I am a retail clothing store and recently just purchased their new “Genius” Customer Engagement Device. It is awesome! My customers love it. I can finsih taking off the tags on the purchases while the customer swipes their card and signs right on the screen. While I am a smaller “mom and pop” type shop, this device gives me the ability to have the look and feel of a larger more sophisticated retail store. Device arrived preprogrammed and ready to go. I also save paper with the digital signature capture. This is a must!

  10. I have been processing with Merchant Warehouse for a couple years. A rep reached out to me and informed me that EMV cards were coming to the states in the next year or so and I would need to upgrade my terminal. I did some research and confirmed this was true but still didnt want to make any changes. Then the rep told me about the other feastures like pin debit capability and signature capture and they let me try it for 60 dayy for FREE. I have been using Genius for 4 months now and I cant believe I almost turned it down. Its great!

  11. I am writing today to rave about Merchant Warehouse. I have a new business that I started a couple months ago and I was leary about the expense of a merchant account. I shopped around and was going to initially use “the free” swiper accounts. I had a few questions and guess what: there was no one to help with with these so called free accounts! no phone number, no client service etc. I called Merchant Warehouse and got a dedicated representative not to mention affordable service!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Merchant Warehouse

Gave a call and was told I could save close to $300 per month total. It was a no brainer for me with the no startup cost (repro’d my terminal and online gateway) no charge! Just got my first statement and saved $306.91. These guys are great!

  18. I was processing cards at a flat rate of 2.75%. After spending a good part of two days trading e mails, account statements, applications, and several different forms, I was approved. I requested the ability to accept American Express, which was a flat rate of 3.5%. No problem. The rates for non qualified rates concerned me. I was told, and I quote
“After looking over your bank statements and learning a bit about what you do I wouldn’t worry too much about non qualified rates because those are just for some corporate cards and government cards which you probably wont see too much of. The rates for Non are +1.99% + $0.10. For rewards cards the rates are +1.79% + $0.10. Based on what I saw from your statements it looks as though the majority of your cards will be debit and personal credit cards which are 0.39%+$0.04 and 2.19% + $0.21 respectively. ”

My first charge was a Visa Card. I was charged over 4% by Merchant Warehouse. My second was an American Express Card, I was denied because the application was never filed. I called AMEX directly and was approved. I was charged 3.5%. When I questioned the charges, I was told that AMEX made a mistake. They did not. After four e mails to my salesman and customer service, I still got the same answer. Finally I spoke to a different customer service rep, and the charges were explained. I was charged for three batches, even though I only charged two cards. My Visa rate was a non qualified rate of 4.18%, precisely what I had inquired about when I applied. Smoke and mirrors to get me on board! Wish me luck getting my $100 for Merchant Warehouse not beating my rate. I cancelled my account after a grand total of ONE charge.

  19. I’ve been with Merchant Warehouse for over three years now. When I first signed up I was a first time business owner, had just sunk my life savings into a convenience store after being laid off from my factory job. I was so new to all of this and my sales rep at Merchant Warehouse was amazing! They took the time to explain how my account would function and answered every little question I had, which is so important because if you don’t know how to run transactions properly they will cost you more, so ask and don’t say yeah yeah yeah what’s the rate. Customer service with Merchant Warehouse has always been prompt and helpful. As for the costs, Merchant Warehouse has taken care of me and continues to do so. As a retail store I have agents for over companies come in all the time trying to get me to switch but none of them have been able to offer me the low rates and in-house customer service that Merchant Warehouse does. All I can say is these guys deliver if you take the time to work with them and learn the merchant account industry and how cards are priced and should be processed.

  20. This company has problems with it server at least once every month or more…..It customers service statement always states “haveing problems with system and will be back up in a few minutes”… This time the down minutes started on the 8th day of June, 2012 and still waiting on few minutes at 4:14 PM CST 12th day of June 2012 “just a few minutes:”

As a business, I have lost over $1000 each month due to this “server problem” unable to process cards with this company……..All they say is “I’m sorry, I’m sorry…….”

From all the monies they charge us and the double and even tripple billing this company does when its “so called server is down” it should invest in a real tech group that can switch to another server as soon as the first problem arises, but NO they let us loose monies- do to not being able to process’ and then when they do process, they charge the customer 2 or 3 times and have to waste time correcting their mistakes…..oh……but the server was down is all I hear….

Asked to have a supervisor call me and was told “I’ll send an e-mail to them” —— but no one ever calls back…..

I am switching to another processing company do to the fact that this company never returns calls, does nothing but say “I’m sorry” and has been losing me customers and monies ever since their so called “server” keeps going down…….

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMAPANY IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM…….

It seems that most of the negitive reviews are somehow misplaced… Every other business can’t “just be in love with this merchant……”

  21. When I was shopping for a merchant account provider the ‘guaranteed lowest rate’ and $100 guarantee if someone could beat their rate made Merchant Warehouse sound like a winner, but that was when I signed up over four years ago. They used to quote a very low rate on their site. (Now they want to give a ‘competitive quote) You to have done lots of homework to avid being ripped off in my opinion.
The real rates I have paid are much higher than everything they quoted and promised, but I suspect they get away with it because it is difficult to decode the statements they provide at the end of the month and calculate the effective rate for each transaction. When I started with them I did not have any minimum amount for charges or discount fees, just flat monthly charges.
Then they started charging monthly fees plus a minimum of $25 in discount fees, which means that unless you have $1300-1500 or more in credit card charges every month you will be paying a huge premium for accepting credit cards.

Merchant Warehouse has decent, if maybe a bit overzealous, salesmen, but the sales dude is just the slick guy who gets you in the door. What customers need is stellar customer service, which Merchant Warehouse does not have! I don’t think their customer service has solved my problems on the first call even 30% of the time. It has been very disappointing. I am kicking myself for staying with them for too long and for wasting money and valuable time giving them too many chances to make things right.

And when their network fails which has happened many times I either have to process off-line (and accept a 100% loss if the card is declined later) or demand cash. Plus I have had numerous charges declined on cards that I know should not have been declined and it embarrassed me and upset my customers. These happened because of ‘technical problems’ on Merchant Warehouse’s end. And no amount of money can make up for lost good will.

I cannot emphasize strongly enough that if you are shopping for a merchant account, do not sign up with Merchant Warehouse without looking at all the alternatives and reading the contract and asking every question you think is pertinent. I have needlessly lost money by using Merchant Warehouse – I will NEVER recommend them to anyone again.

I have an open complaint with the Boston Better Business Bureau trying to recover money I have been overcharged. I am seeking more than $175 that I was overcharged in just one month! I will post an update here if it is resolved in a timely manner.

  22. I just signed up with Merchant Warehouse and I gotta say I am impressed. I’ve had several businesses over the years and have dealt with many CC processing providers as technology has progressed. I’ve never worked with a company that made getting setup and going so easy and cost effective.

I’ve seen some of these other reviews and I have to say I am not sure what happened to them but so far things have been great. I had some tech issues and their tech department helped me out right then and there, no emails or wait. Same with their customer service.

If there was one thing that I would change it would be a free mobile swiping option for my iPhone. Other than that I am very happy.

We worked up what has been easy to use and quite profitable payment processing solution. Other artisans at a recent event were very impressed with the ease of use and my glowing recommendation of Merchant Warehouse. 24. I have been shopping around looking for the best rates and fees for my merchant account for my BRAND NEW business. I connected with a Rep at Merchant Warehouse, and was surprised to hear that many other companies offer introductory rates to get businesses just to sign up and then lock them into a multiyear agreement with a cancellation fee which could be up to $700. With Merchant Warehouse they offer a low cost guarantee and NO CANCELLATION fee. Terms are month to month! Being a new business I feel comfortable signing up with Merchant Warehouse knowing that I am not locked into anything and that they have to keep me happy if they want to keep me as a customer.

It prompted me to look around and I came across Merchant Warehouse. I spoke to a very knowledgeable Rep who informed me that my terminal was perfect and didnt need to be replaced. 27. I have been with Merchant Warehouse for 5 years but not anymore. I put my account on hold and was told on the phone and in writing in an email that I would only be charged $9.95 per month. Well, I received a bill for $108 which was the $9.95 + a PCI compliance fee of $99. I also incurred an overdraft fee from the bank since I wasn’t expecting a $108 bill. I was charged this same PCI compliance fee just 5 months prior so it was really unexpected. I called customer support and they told me they sent me an email notifying me about the PCI compliance fee but I don’t have a record of it (I keep all my emails) and neither do they. They would not honor their own words that I have in an email that says I would only be charged $9.95 per month to be on hold. So Merchant Warehouse you got your $100 and caused me an overdraft fee but you lost a 5 year customer. This is how Merchant Warehouse does business – hidden fees, will not honor their word.
